Gully to Leave !

Gulfraz Satti "Gully" has decided to call it a day at Ventus Sports AFC he has sent the following comment to the Supporters Club.

Hi there lads its Gully 'pigeon catcher' just like to say thanks to all the lads over the years and thank all the management team it was hard leaving but needed a bit of a change, hope no hard feelings and good luck for the season and hopefully we'll meet soon.

Bradford & District Cup

Ventus Sports turned over Eastward FC in the First Round of the District Cup 5:2, in a match full of incidents. They have drawn Chellow A in the Second Round, date still to be announced.

Bradford & District Cup

Ventus Sports AFC have drawn Eastward FC away in the first round of the Bradford & District Cup, the game is to be played on Sunday 17th September at 11.00am. Ventus Sports AFC have a good record against Eastward FC both in league and cup competitions.

On the same Sunday there are a couple of Bradford Sunday Alliance League matches being played, they are as follows:

Ventus Sports AFC v Silsden FC

Ventus Sports AFC were put out of the Bradford Sunday Alliance League Senior Cup by Sisden FC in a 4:1 defeat. The match had lots of incidents, mainly from VERY BAD Referreing decisions.

A red card for Ryan Donnan whilst on the bench with no provocation.

A yellow card for Ian Horrocks in a 50/50 tackle with the goalkeeper, who incidently had to come off due to a damaged leg from the tackle (but even he said it was a stupid decision by the ref).

A goal gifted to Silsden FC at the end of the first half, when the striker was offside, the referees comment being "he did not see it", as he had his back to play.

The game culminated in Matthew Moore landing badly on his back when jumping for a ball. An ambulance had to be called as he could not move. Fortunately it was nothing major as after being X-rayed at the Airedale Hospital it was deduced that he had torn some muscles in his back and the spasms were the cause of his inability to move. Plenty of pain killers and a layoff from football was the Doctors orders. It looks like Matthew will be out for a number of weeks.

Bradford Sunday Alliance Senior Cup

Ventus Sports AFC have drawn Silsden FC away in the 1st round of the Senior Cup. The match is to be played on the 10th September at 11.00 am. Ventus have met Silsden Fc before and turned them over at their ground so they are hoping to have a repeat performance to get them on the road to the cup.
