Bolton Woods Annual Summer Football Tournament 2006

Ventus Sports were knocked out of the Bolton Woods Annual Summer Football Tournament 2006 in the Semi Final in the last minutes of play when an incorrect referee decision was given. Nab wood were awarded a free kick on the edge of the box when it was clear to everyone that Andy Butterworth made contact with the ball and not the man. From this astonishing decision Nab Wood got a goal in the dying seconds of the game stop Ventus Sports from getting to the final.

The Teams in Group A were Wibsey WMC A, Bolton Woods Old Boys A, Bolton Woods AFC A, Wrose Bull A, Nab Wood & Ventus Sports. Ventus Sports got through to Semi Final with Bolton Woods AFC A both not conceeding a game. Wayne Campbell scored in 4 of the 5 Group stage matches.

Ventus Sports played in their 3rd strip colours - a very rarely seen thing !
