Ventus Sports AFC v Beldon Sports

5th and final game in the Newlands Cup Group stages. After a disappointing 4th game Ventus Sports saw themselves 1-0 down at the halfway stage.

Second half and the old Ventus Sports was back again seeing a goal by Wayne Campbell and another hattrick by Jarrad "Jazz" Peltier.

4-1 another emphatic win.

Surely through to the Semi final round on the 6th August.

Ventus Sports AFC v St.Georges

4th game in the Newlands Cup and it was against St.Georges (formerly Moveit Removals).

A poor result for the lads as they lost 4-2.

Goals came from Micky Reynolds after return to the team with his badly bruised foot (courtesy of his holiday pranks) and Josef Stecyk. At 0-0 Joe Stecyk missed two penalties and a penalty retake.

Hopefully the team will make amends at the weekend when they take on Beldon Sports.

Ventus Sports AFC v Oddfellows Arms

3rd game in the group stages of the Newlands Cup and Ventus Sports AFC win 5-0 in decisive manner. They were just a class above the other team. This should guarantee then a place in the semi finals having won 3 out of 5 in th group stages.

Next game is to be played mid-week on Wednesday evening and the final game of the group on Saturday afternoon, I am sure they will want to go to semis with all 5 down as a win.

Bolton Woods Annual Summer Football Tournament 2006

Ventus Sports were knocked out of the Bolton Woods Annual Summer Football Tournament 2006 in the Semi Final in the last minutes of play when an incorrect referee decision was given. Nab wood were awarded a free kick on the edge of the box when it was clear to everyone that Andy Butterworth made contact with the ball and not the man. From this astonishing decision Nab Wood got a goal in the dying seconds of the game stop Ventus Sports from getting to the final.

The Team consisted of (from left to right - back row) Wayne Campbell, Chris Drake, James Bower, Josef Stecyk, (front row) Andy Butterworth, Carl Zabarowski, John Clifford.

The Teams in Group A were Wibsey WMC A, Bolton Woods Old Boys A, Bolton Woods AFC A, Wrose Bull A, Nab Wood & Ventus Sports. Ventus Sports got through to Semi Final with Bolton Woods AFC A both not conceeding a game. Wayne Campbell scored in 4 of the 5 Group stage matches.

Ventus Sports played in their 3rd strip colours - a very rarely seen thing !

Ventus Sports AFC v East Ward FC

2nd game in the Newlands Cup and Ventus Sports AFC continue with another win in this Cup run. 2 Goals for the new signing Jarrad "Jazz" Peltier, one for new signing Ian Horrocks and the forth goal by Steven Bromley who was made Captain for the day as East Ward FC was his old Club before joing Ventus Sports. Final score 4-2.

Cameron to leave ?

Word on the street is that Cameron Kerin has asked for a transfer!

The season barely started and only half a season at Ventus Sports it looks like "Cammy" is leaving!

Can it be that he just wanted a Chamionship Trophy ?

Rumour hot off the training ground is that Andy Butterworth has decided to ditch his current Club Buttershaw White Star and transfer to Ventus Sports AFC !

Reynolds out ?

Micky Reynolds returned from a summer holiday in Spain with some of the team sporting a badly bruised foot! It is looking as though he may be out for the rest of the Newlands Cup.

Currently awaiting medical report.
